Legacy Food Group takes ownership of Mike’s Beef Jerky, Robe, South Australia
July 1, 2025 – Legacy Food Group takes ownership of Mikes Beef Jerky with an exiting new era in front of us with growth, opportunity and a great team behind us taking our company into the future.
May 7th, 2025 – Mike’s Beef Jerky wins ‘Top Honours’ in Frankfurt Germany via the IFFA DFV World Quality Competition. Our Black Pepper Jerky took out top honours with a Platinum Award and both Chilli and Black Pepper received Gold Medals plus, Silver Medals were won for both Cheese and Chilli Cheese Kranski products.
May 1, 2025 – Legacy Food Group, (Legacy) today announced that it will acquire the operating business and manufacturing plant of Mike’s Beef Jerky (Mike’s) located in Robe, SA, as part Legacy’s expansion plans.
Legacy, a subsidiary of Pro-Stock Livestock, has grown significantly over the past 3 years and has diversified its wholesale meat division into manufacturing dried meat snack food (Biltong) and pet treats for the retail market.
“In the dried meat ‘snack’ sector, our strength is being able to focus and deliver a world class product within this important growing category of the ‘snack’ protein business by achieving an all-important, product quality and consistency. The acquisition of Mike’s is an important part of underpinning an improved, ongoing growth and service to the retail sector” said Scott Endersby, Managing Director of Legacy.
Mike’s Beef Jerky is known for its premium, flavourful products made from 100% Australian premium beef with a special blend of spices and a subtle natural wood-smoke finish, which results in a unique taste and texture that sets it apart from other brands.
Mike and Cindy Epp came to SA in 2001 and, with a lifelong passion for Jerky, established a highly credible network of approximately 1,300 stockists with their brand now established as a strong presence nationally. “Cindy and I are extremely proud of our achievement, and we see Legacy as a natural fit to take our enterprise to the next level.
